Ever wonder how many calories you burn each day or during a certain activity? The calculator below allows you to enter in your weight, the exercise and the time spent doing that exercise and then determines the calories that you burned performing that activity.

How is this determined? The most comprehensive technique is known as the University of South Carolina's Compendium of Physical Activities. Research has been done to find this method the most accurate, as it used the metabolic equivalents (MET) to assign intensity units to each activity. Based on the MET value of the activity and the time spent performing it, the # of calories burned is calculated.

Calories burned by exercise = ((METs * 3.5 * weight in kg) / 200) * # of minutes.
